Clear aligners

Straighten your teeth — without braces

If you’ve been putting off straightening your teeth because you don’t want metal braces as an adult, clear aligners were made for you. Invisalign uses a series of transparent, removable trays to gradually guide your teeth into alignment — no brackets, no wires, and nothing that announces itself in photos or meetings. Adel Dentistry now offers Invisalign clear aligner treatment at our private Carrollwood, Tampa practice, planned personally by Dr. Adel with the same digital precision and conservative philosophy we bring to everything else.

How it works

How Invisalign works

Instead of brackets and wires, Invisalign uses custom-made plastic aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. Each set is shaped slightly differently from the last, applying gentle, controlled pressure that moves your teeth a little at a time. You wear each set as directed by Dr. Adel, then switch to the next — progressing step by step toward your final alignment. Because the aligners are removable, there are no food restrictions: you simply take them out to eat and brush. And because they’re clear, most people won’t notice you’re wearing them at all.

Candidates

What clear aligners can correct

Invisalign can treat many common alignment concerns, including:

  • Crowded teeth — teeth that overlap or twist because there isn’t enough space
  • Gaps between teeth — small to moderate spacing
  • Overbite — upper teeth sitting too far forward over the lower teeth
  • Underbite — lower teeth sitting in front of the upper teeth
  • Crossbite — some upper teeth sitting inside the lower teeth when you bite

Every case is different. At your consultation, Dr. Adel will evaluate your bite with digital imaging and tell you honestly whether clear aligners are the right approach for you — or whether another option would serve you better. Severe or complex cases sometimes need a different path, and we’d rather tell you that upfront.

Our philosophy

Why Invisalign fits the way we practice

Clear aligners are a natural fit for a conservative practice: straightening teeth with aligners preserves your natural tooth structure — there’s no filing or reshaping the way other cosmetic treatments require. And our fully digital workflow makes the process comfortable from day one: your teeth are captured with fast digital scanning (no messy impressions), and 3D planning lets you preview your projected result before you commit. As a single-doctor private practice, your treatment is overseen by Dr. Adel personally from the first scan to the final retainer — no handoffs, no rotating providers.

Your journey

What to expect: your clear-aligner journey

1. Consultation and digital scan

We discuss your goals, evaluate your bite and alignment with digital imaging, and take a comfortable 3D scan of your teeth. If Invisalign is right for you, Dr. Adel maps your tooth movements digitally and you’ll preview the projected outcome.

2. Your custom aligner series

Your aligners are custom-made for your teeth. You’ll wear them 20 to 22 hours a day — removing them only to eat, drink anything but water, brush, and floss — and advance through the series on the schedule Dr. Adel sets for you.

3. Check-ins and your finished smile

You’ll come in periodically so Dr. Adel can track your progress and make any refinements. When treatment is complete, custom retainers help maintain your new alignment for the long term.

Daily life

Living with clear aligners

Most patients adapt to aligners within a few days. You may notice mild pressure when switching to a new set — that’s normal and usually fades quickly. Keep your aligners and teeth clean with daily brushing, rinse (don’t use hot water on) your trays, and store them in their case whenever they’re out of your mouth. There are no dietary restrictions, and check-in visits are quick.

Adults & teens

Invisalign for adults — and teens

Most Invisalign patients are adults, and for good reason: the aligners are nearly invisible in professional and social settings, there are no dietary restrictions to navigate at business lunches, and check-in visits are quick. But clear aligners also work well for responsible teens whose adult teeth have come in — the removability that adults love for dining applies equally to school lunches and sports (just remember the case: aligners should never go in a napkin or pocket). Whether you’re 16 or 60, the process is the same: digital scan, custom aligner series, and Dr. Adel personally tracking your progress. And because straightening with aligners preserves your natural tooth structure, it’s one of the most conservative ways to transform a smile — very much in keeping with how we practice.

FAQs

Invisalign FAQs

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners. Each set applies gentle pressure to move your teeth slightly, and you progress through the series on your doctor’s schedule until your teeth reach their planned positions.

It varies with the complexity of your case. At your consultation, Dr. Adel will evaluate your alignment with digital imaging and give you a personalized estimate before you begin.

For the best results, wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink anything besides water, brush, and floss. Consistent wear is the biggest factor in staying on schedule.

It depends on your case and your lifestyle. Clear aligners are discreet, removable, and have no food restrictions — most adults prefer them. Traditional braces can be the better choice for severe or complex alignment issues. Dr. Adel will recommend whichever option truly fits your situation.

Absolutely — most Invisalign patients are adults and teens. It’s never too late to straighten your teeth, and the discreet appearance of aligners is a major reason working professionals choose them.

Cost depends on the complexity and length of your case. At your consultation, we’ll give you clear, upfront pricing before anything is scheduled. We accept most PPO dental insurance plans, and our in-house membership plan offers an option for patients without insurance.
